    Hello there,
I have a bit of a problem regarding importing "medicines for personal use" from china!and yes it is illegal here without perscription! the story is , ive bought almost years supply of this medicine from a crowd in China, for the same price as a month supply would cost here. I had to buy a minimum order hence so much of the stuff! its been checked tomorrow by the medicines board :eek:and im not feeling very confident. do I have any come back or rights here? or is my "hard" eraned cash gone down the drain?!
    Cheers

Customs are cracking down on imported meds, and while I understand why you would want to save, you'd have to question if these were even the real things. If they refuse to let them in I dont you'd have any recourse

Hi there thanks for the reply.I kinda doubt they are the real thing myself but if they work I wont care!i heard somewhere that if you are buying something for personal use(ie no more than a years supply of something) that its legal to import meds. is this true?

This article seems pretty informative, and pretty clear that importing medicines that require a prescription is illegal.

    From http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1988/en/si/0328.html#zzsi328y1988a5

    4. (1) Subject to the provisions of these Regulations a person shall not—
    (a) produce a controlled drug,
    (b) supply or offer to supply a controlled drug, or
    (c) import or export a controlled drug.
    (2) (a) Sub-article (1) (c) shall not apply to any drug specified in Schedule 4 or 5.
    (b) Sub-article (1) (b) shall not apply to poppy straw.

its completely illegal under current irish law and you will be lucky to avoid a prison sentence if these are controlled or perscription only medcines

in the uk you are allowed 3 months personal supply afaik but not in eire

if u had enough of them you could be charged with posseassion with intent to supply a controlled substance (class c) and or illegal importation of said controlled substance

quite a serious offence but in your case i would worry as the amount was very small

id say confiscation is the worst that will happen ,if u get a seizure letter id ignore it and let them destroy the product after 28 days
