    Hi all.

Apologies mods if there is a thread for travelling in Ireland on here!

Anyway this year due to low funds and a lack of desire to spend €1000 plus on a holiday in spain, I want to have my holiday in ireland this year. I adore Ireland (Hopefully the flaming weather picks up or it will be a nightmare, but anywho... )

We are a young couple with a six year old boy who will need to be entertained, weather or no weather! We tried holidaying in a b&b in Co Clare the year before last and due to the weather it was a NIGHTMARE as my son was so bored and his poor head was wrecked, and so were ours!
So we will need somewhere to stay that will also have activities in the area (that dont cost a fortune as we are on a budget) e.g. leisure centres, crazy golf, nice beaches, arcades etc.

I am thinking about going to over to the south east, stopping off with relatives either on the way over or way back in Meath and Dublin for free accommodation!! Will prob stay with my sis the Sunday heading down and bring my son to zoo on the monday.

If anyone has any suggestions for affordable, child friendly accommodation
in this area with suitable family activities I would be so grateful.

Also If someone has a direct line to the weather man Id be grateful for dry weather the last week in July!! Cheers :D

    Hi,

I know this isn't in the area you were looking for but there's a great hotel in Dingle. Has a kids club, pool, spa facilities, will also arrange babysitters if you want to go out at all. There is also an aquarium in the town, fungi trips and loads of beautiful beaches and places for drives.

I've stayed there a couple of times, I've no kids but once was for a wedding and alot of people had kids with them. The staff are really friendly and the hotel is lovely.

I'm thinking of going back again sometime soon. Really relaxing place :-)

Sorry: Just spotted in the title that you specifically wanted Wicklow\ Wexford Area.

Have no advice on where to stay but the JFK Arboretum is somewhere you could visit one day down that way. It's a huge park about 10-15 mins from New Ross. I was there a few days ago & there was loads of families having picnics. There's a playground area with loads of park benches scattered around. Plenty of room for kids to run around, play football etc.....
