    use the original one. !

the picture quality will not improve significantly by changing.

I agree that you will not find much difference on any scart, I have tried all kinds of scart cable, including Monster cables that cost anything upto €100...only difference i found using gold plated was sound hums that often appear on cheaply made cables...
Make sure your sky output is set to RGB by

    Press services
    Press no 4 on keypad
    Press no 1...

Change video output to RGB Aand it may help picture quality...on some tvs you mite need to switch the socket u connect your scart to for rgb...they are usualluy marked so have a look on the back of your tv...

    hope that helps..

Can't remember if the standard Sky+ box has a HDMI output (probably not, actually). If it has, I'd have thought that that would be your best option for hooking up to your TV.

Standard sky + white box does not have any HDMI connection..

say exact model of tv, it may have settings for the scart input, it could be RGB, composite, s-video etc. Also tv will have a variety of viewing modes, eg personal, dynamic, movie and so on, movie is usually the best. and as said sky box has to be set to rgb. you should really get a sky hd box and use hdmi.

I disagree with this. Because the signals are analogue and sound and picture travel side by side within the cable, upgrades such as ofc copper cable and thicker insulation\higher quality between cables should help.

Now, for digital signals (such as HDMI) the argument holds that a cheap cable is fine for up to a few meters.
