Sergio and Justin Rose's latest Adidas golf polo shirts look like soccer shirts anyway with the 3 stripes down the sides, minus a team crest, so dont see what the fuss is. If he came on course in Predator boots then I'd be worried! :D

Spain are using Adidas jerseys so at least his poor sponsors won't be affected by this shocking act

Kaymer wore the German shirt in the final round of the French Open iirc.

Don't like the trousers he wears. They all seem to look like a pair of trakkie bottoms to me.

With regards the Jersey, it was only a practice day and he is supporting his country who just won the world cup, so no worries there.

Pretty sure Steve Webster had an England shirt on the day of the Germany game.

Didnt Ian Poulter wear an Arsenal shirt in a tournament once?

Probably the most publicity Garcia will get this Open. His game is gone to dirt recently.

Hopefully it might start an end to the nonsense relating to what people can and can't wear when they are playing golf.

I know they'll be a few bellends out there that will pull people up, daring to wear such disgusting livery

thats a ridiculous statement to make
what next, people wandering around the course in tracksuits etc
if that ever happens i'll be retiring from the game
every sport needs etiquette, rules, standards

That would be a big loss to the game.

No intention of ever wearing a tracksuit or jersey on a golf course but I have no issue with other people doing so during a casual round.

I wore Jeans for a 9 hole practice round last night. One heavy shower of rain later and I won't be making that mistake again.

Sergio was given special permission to wear the jersey for his practice round , No harm done , It just goes to show what good sport the R & A were in allowing it be be worn .
