Sluggish PC

PC was upgraded with extra memory and win 7 about 6 months ago and it's ran like a dream but the last few weeks I've started noticing sluggish performance when it's on a while.
An example is tonight the pc was only on 2 hours and the keyboard was lagging when I typed/browser was lagging badly and unresponsive and as per usual when I do a speed test it is slow, yet when I reboot everything is fine and speed test is fine and fast again, which is why I'm fairly sure it's to do with my pc and not my isp.
I've used adaware and defragged regularly.
    Any pointers?

Could be a daily virus scan running

What was the PC running when you upgraded it to Windows 7, did you check the minimum spec for Windows 7 before upgrading.

As was said above, make sure that your AV scanner is not running every day. Older versions of AVG used to do this by default.. Also, make sure that there is an adequate amount of space on the C: drive. It may be some program that you have running on startup that is hogging resources..

I've plenty of HD space and as I said in 1st post it's been running like a dream for the last 6 months, I'm wondering if it's anything to do with my browser?
I mean 2 mins ago pc was fine and then all of a sudden when I tried to surf comp was just responding in slo mo, next time it does that I'll try and run something else to rule out the browser suspicions.

    pc was formerly Vista.

I found the problem, it's when I have Google documents open!:D
As soon as I close it the browser returns to normal speed.
