Gorfield is there a time sheet in operation for the next few days? Do you know when you will be out?

I heard that the greenkeeper is being encouraged to slow the greens down by the GUI. Seems an awful shame. It's like that the GUI want a birdie fest. Played yesterday and the greens were slick but they could be made slicker. Also pin positions are being dictated by the GUI. If these guys are the top amateurs in the country then they should be made play the course at its hardest.

played myself yesterday and lets just say i wont be around for the second round of captains. True about the greens being slowish but if you have a downhill putt its still quick enough. any idea of scores in

Dont know. Scored 72 myself missed 3 tap ins and a number of other makeable puts. Missed 5 birdie puts in a row. Get one thing together and an other thing goes! conditions were excellent when I played.

Was over this evening. Didn't play captains cos will be away next week. One of the Juniors had a 61!! Thats 48 points!!
Anyway, played 7 holes this evening. The Interpro guys had been practicing today. It was outrageous how many plug marks were left on the greens. I repaired 8 - 10 on each hole. Apparently (and I have this on good authority) there was a complaint made to the GUI about it and each branch was told to tell their players that leaving pitch marks on the greens was totally unacceptable and that it wasn't to continue. Whether the message was communicated to the players or not, I don't know. Would they do the same to their own course? Couldn't believe what I saw TBH. A disgraceful disregard for the course.

Perhaps it was from the Captains Prize?

No. Wasn't from Captains. Definitely from today............
I've never ever seen as many pitch marks on the Ballinrobe greens.

was down this morning watching and some of the golf was great whilst some of the short shots were not the prettiest. One of the juniors found out he had 15 clubs in his bag and lost 2 holes for the error after being 2 up. Hit him really hard and they went down quickley after that. Eddie leonard has some dose of the twitches though;) great driving and the greens although slow looked very good.

Watched a bit of the golf yesterday. What happened a lot was that players chased birdies and ended up losing to pars. Also some of the putting was poor. The driving and long irons though were very good. The course looked very well. Players and caddies will have a wet day today though - the rough is very tough when wet.

Congrats to ulster on winning the senior interpro`s today. I managed to caddie for Rory Leonard for a full day on wednesday and it was pretty cool. He and Steven Crowe won in the foursomes in the morning but unfortunately Rory lost in the singles in the afternoon in what was crazy conditions with greenstaff having to squeegie the greens before putts being taken. Seeing these guys play on my home course and shoot scores that they did make me feel like I am only preparing for the national ploughing championships when I go out on Sundays.

Hey Scrubber - Leonard lost a pal of mine from Lucan, Richie O'Donovan, 3&2 right? How did that match go? I assume Rich played very well or did the weather ruin it?
