Getting BBC etc. channels on the sky menu

Hello all.

I just came across this site - made great use of getting more channels - excellent!

Just wondering how to get the extra channels on the ordinary sky menu - instead of going to "other channels" to view BBC??.

I have seen BBC on the sky menu on a skybox in the past.

BBC1 and 2 are channels 141 and 142 on the epg. You can't put the "other channels" on the epg.
The only way around it is to have a skybox without a card (or with a ftv card)-you probably saw it on a box somebody was using for fta.
Basically if your a sky subscriber and want to watch ITV etc on the box it's the other channels for you.

yea, it was fta but the BBc channels were like 101 and 102 or something like that.

the person basically had a free to air setup or UK freesat setup. If you are wanting just bbcs and itvs and not much mass in the rest, maybe you should think about cancelling sky?

I canceled the standing order already, although I am mid way in a 12 month contract. maybe it was a mistake?

yes.

you need to write to them to cancel.

not sure what the penalties are for cancelling during contract.
