    Hi,

Does anyone know if this telly is MPEG 4 Compatible for Irish DTT & assuming it'll pick up the UK channels? As it would be handy for my mum in the kitchen.

    Thanks

This offer comes up every other month, but only whom buys it ever bothers to come back and report on it...

But as always, the uk version of the site the freeview logo on the picture and in the text, but this is removed for the irish site.

I'm also debating on this one. Very little in the way of feedback.

I bought one of these, and the wall mount that was for sale. Is this thing actually vesa compatible?

I asked the same in the TV forum and was told it's probably not good for DTT.
Nevertheless when I checked the stores Sunday afternoon they were all sold out anyway, so not sure if you can still get one.

I have it. Got it today. Mount doesn't seem to be compatible with tv though...

    Hi,
This isnt the answer you're lookin for, but does it pick up the UK stations for you as i'm assuming the DVB-T picks them up? & whats the DTT like?

    Thanks

If the tuner is not Mpeg4 compatiable it won't work with the Irish DTT service "Saorview"

In general "Freeview" TV or set top boxes will not work with Saorview.

"Freeview HD" TV or set top boxes will work but not 100%, the interactive menu's on Saorview require MHEG-5 to use them which Freeview doesn't use.

Pixmana sell TVs and set top boxes with the french "TNT HD" logo these will also work but I'm not 100% sure about the MHEG-5 interactive menu on them.

Saorview will only give you Irish channels, some parts of Ireland along the east coast and the border can get Freeview through a TV aerial.

Im not upto date with all this terminology yet, as i've heard you need to get MPEG4 for Irish DTT as UK only use MPEG2 for DVB-T
(would that pick up UK stations for you?)

Im not familiar with 'Saorview' or MHEG-5 yet?
