    MyDefrag is better, I find. For one thing it does more than actually defrag stuff, but can optimise file placement like it.

    I've been using defraggler a lot lately and think its still pretty gank and simplistic. Doesnt defrag properly: I cant get some of my machines down below 20% frgamentation. Been using free trials of PerfectDisk though I really ought to buy the program, it works great.

    If you have Linux on a netbook with SSD memory cards you can make file saves 10% faster by telling it not to defrag files as they are being written to the disk.

    Apart from that most non-windows systems go out of their way to prevent files being fragmented in the first place.

    If you want to speed up your drive then spit into partitions. The first third of your drive has probably twice the data transfer rate and half the seek time as the last third of a drive. One wonders
    Keep rarely used files at the end, Swapfiles and OS at the start.
