    Hey folks,

Any idea if there are laptop manufacterors which have USB 3.0 on some / all laptops?

Only place I found was Falcon laptops in the states and they are v v expensive...

If there are none around at the moment, any idea when they will start to become standard...?

    Cheers,
    F

At the moment alot don't have them but you can buy an express card PCMCIA I've seen one or two of them online but that's only if your badly stuck for one now . Give it 3 months or so and you see a few more floating about

if you want to pay a few grand for a laptop with usb3 go ahead, i would wait well into 2011 before they come more mainstream.

firewire 800 is not to be sniffed at..

    *sniff, sniff...

Dubdvd - thanks for that. Don't fancy buying addons though

That Dell laptop isn't available in Ireland, is it? Seems to be just the States that are starting to adopt this tech. Very frustrating!

x in the city - I guess that's with any technology (wait and it will get cheaper) but the thread was created due to my impatience ;)

Firewire would be handy but USB is more mainstream... All my current peripherals are USB...

Thanks though to the two of you - pretty much confirmed my initial thoughts.
