they've been working on creating a new bus lane, etc just across the road from me for the last couple of weeks, but this morning they decide to start at 7am
seems a bit early, thought there would be some sort of rules bout how early they can start

The lads point is that he was woken up by construction workers, he is annoyed and wonders is it even allowed. Whether they're corpo/council/zombie workers is neither here nor there.

Think you made a typo in the title..

    Workers should be Worker. :D

In the corporation they have one worker and 7 other lads 'supervising'.

My apartment overlooks the Luas and we get woken up 2 nights/mornings a week by a guy pressure washing the tracks and shelters. Starts anywhere between 11pm and 5am and takes about 2 hours! Needless to say, we won't be renewing that lease when it's up.

Oh, and I checked, there is no law prohibiting public works at anytime of day or night. You can lodge a complaint with the Dept. Of Environment but I wouldn't hope for much. I've written to Veolia and the private company that do the cleaning, I was either ignored or told there was no cleaning on the night in question. I guess I must be halucinating so.

Greater societal good > your sleep.

    Get earplugs or move house.

A bus lane is a greter societal good? Sure the only people that use them are motorbikes and taxi drivers without customers. When they have customers they use the main lane so it takes longer.

Ear plugs.. I have to use them if I want to get any sleep and they work perfect.
Just leave your phone alarm beside the pillow so the vibration wakes ya up.

Is there a source to verify this? Or is it just a sensationalist headline?
