I know this has been posted before but I have a feeling the law may have changed and im wondering what the story is.
The car was registered to my boyfriend and he got a parking ticket in Northern Ireland which he didnt pay, (we live in the South) then he gave me the car and it is now registered under my name. He recently received a letter from the Road Service saying the fine has to be paid by a certain date and if not the fine goes up by £30. Im just wondering does anyone else know what happens if the car has changed owners and he decides that he wont pay the fine?
    Sorry i know im waffling a bit:D!!!

That's between him and whoever issued the ticket. You have nothing to worry about, and the fact that he subsequently sold the car makes no difference to his case.

Question to add to the general topc:

I got caught by the traffic warden fellow in Belfast but he did not leave anything on my window. I just assumed that it was all done electronically now.

It was close. Just got to the car as he finished looking at mine. No arguments from me, I knew I was on a single yellow line. :o

Passed him again and Id say he got through about 20 cars on the one stretch of the road.

Main question is since someone said that he has to leave something behind:

Nowadays, do you have to have something left on the window or is it all super efficient and electronic/postal now?
