    Hi all!!
This is probably going to sound like a bit of a ramble but here goes.....
I just cannot figure out what to do for a career, I have a degree already but I feel like I really need to do a postgrad or something so that my jobsearch is not so broad. I just have absolutely no idea what to do! Everyone keeps saying just decide what to do and then do it, but its like I have a big mental block that i cannot clear, peopl just dont understand that I honestly have no clue whatsoever. i realise its ridiclous I mean I should have some idea but I really don't, I was made redundant from an admin job which I hated and yet I'm still looking for more admin jobs thinking the next one will be different...?
I just find myself looking at others and just thinking well they're doing this and it seems they're happy with it so maybe i'll just do that, even for the kind of work I seriously could not do. I think the recession as well has me scared sh!tless and convinced that I'm going to end up with nothing no security of a job ever,
Its like all I can see around me is people getting on in their lives, happy and content and here I am in a state of kinda panic and not knowing who I am or something. Or thinking I have to change who I am to succeed in life.
I don't know if this makes any sense but I was just wondering if anyone ever felt similar and how on earth they got out of it and got motivation and drive back! I do feel when I actually realise and feel that I know the right thing for me I will happily work my bum off to achieve it!

I got out of the country when I graduated with my degree (last year). I'm now doing a PhD here in Leicester. There is still money in research and I believe that you should look abroad too, if necessary, with the view to doing a postgrad course like me. What was the subject of your own degree? Much money is in psychology and the life sciences still. Go to findaphd.com and you'll even find projects listed now that are looking for students.

The pay (or 'stipend') is fine to live off.

    Kevin
