    This evening at 8.30.

About an Irish marine biologist trying to breed them for private sales. Intriguing.

    Anyone else watch it?

The second and final part of the documentary is on tomorrow eve at same time.

That guy was on with Mooney (I think) last week. Seahorses are an endangered species... I learned something that day.. :D

If they want to guarantee their survival they should make themselves more tasty.

well the Japs use them as an aphrodisiac, a second piece of information I retained from that section on Mooney.

So what do you think amdub... Me.. You .. Friday night?

I'm cooking seahorse, with a seaweed salad. ;)

Interesting fact no.3 that I've just remembered : Seahorses tend to stay their whole lives together (they can prove this by tagging them). Also they tend to hang around the same lump of seaweed, which makes the susceptible to predators.. fk sake, how come I can never remember anything useful.

    Jonathan

    ;)

Did anyone see how they have babies. The FEMALE produces the eggs and passes them to the MALE who holds them in his belly until this happens:

    Mad!

Seahorse... Japanese aphrodisiac.... I'm willing to trust the Japs and give it a shot.. I will be cooking it in an oyster sauce (for the double whammy) .. lol
God that poor male seahorse, women seahorses will never experience anything like giving birth... Bet the male seahorses bitch about it the whole time and use it in any unrelated argument about pain / thresholds etc etc.. ... ;)

Fact 4: The males give birth to the babies, and they are distinguishable as the "males" only because they are the ones that carry the sperm...

Been from that side of the country where the original factory was setup, i was fairly interested in the story itself. However the fella comes across as a total spoofer in all fairness, he just seems to ride his luck and somehow has survived so far. Just makes me laugh in how he got so many grants for making something outta nothing.

His voice does grate on you after a while.. god bless Geraldine, she puts up with a lot...

He really should not be given any more money or be allowed to put in charge of a business. He has too much of an emotional attachment to the Seahorses, and you cannot run a proper business if you are blinded by such idealistic motivations... He's the sort of lad that should have a 9-5 job in an aquarium, but dont leave him handling the books ffs.

What? He's obviously an outstanding marine biologist. He lacks business acumen but he's an intelligent man.

I don't doubt his ability as a marine biologist, he's clearly a passionate man towards it. Just i see he really rode his luck business wise thats all, he's a lucky lucky man in that respect.

Tip for you...Slag off Hannah Montana or iCarly if you really want to piss Richard off... ;-)

Just watched the last episode of the Seahorses... Kealan's debt of 192k has been "shelved" by the bank... So the taxpayer has to pay for his flight of fancy... I was on his side til I heard that. And by the look of him, he wont be putting the profits of his new business towards the debts.

Yep, shame he didn't get all that ambition, vision, and entrepreneurship knocked out of him when younger. He could have made a good garda or school teacher :D
