    Anyone been? Recommend it?

    Is it safe/cheap/sound people.

Am looking to head to somewhere a bit different and this place came up.

If not, can any one recommend a good spot thats not the usual Berlin/Amsterdam type place that has a good nightlife and is fairly good fun?

    I can strongly recommend it.

Fairly cheap, people are sound and theres a brilliant atmosphere there. Really nice food as well!

Careful not to go there around Ramadan (11th August to the 9th September) as the nightlife won't be as good!

I'm not sure if I'm meant to start a new thread or not, but it's about the same thing so.....

    Would ye recommend Sarajevo?
It's off the usual 'tourist' beaten track but considering linking it into inter rail trip.
Advice? How long would you spend here? Where would you plan on travelling after? Mostar?

    Hi there.

    The answer is YES!
Go to Sarajevo and Mostar if you can. We were there about 18 months ago and had a brillant time.
Sarajevo is fascinating....really interesting. Mostar is incredible and the bridge speaks for itself.
It's very reasonable cost wise and completely safe. The people are incredibly friendly and helpful.
I loved it there and would highly recommend a trip.

Absolutely agree. Sarajevo and Mostar are both fantastic. Been a while since I was there but I liked it so much I went twice in the space of a few years. People are very friendly over there.

And you might as well go to that bridge where Franz Ferdinand was shot (trigger point for the start of World War I). Not much to see but a plaque, but historically, hugely significant.
