I am thinking of buying one of these from MIA but have heard mixed reports on them. Anyone own one that can give me there view as to how good these gas blow back rifles actually are. I'm aware mags only hold 30 rounds, doesn't bother me but i've heard accuracy isn't the best. Any info will be gratefully appreciated

    Regards, Jayo

The way GBB rifles are at the moment, I wouldn't go for it unless you're prepared to put some work in, maybe replace the hop unit or rubber, etc. It's unlikely MIA have done it already and they can be a bit finicky out of the box.

As Gerrowadat says, they're finicky beasts at best. I tried to use mine for the first time at the Ops weekend at HRTA - having waited until I'd enough mags to use it, and until I was at a milsim game with ammo limits so it would make more sense to use a GBBR with real capacity mags. With a line of people chrono'ing up I tried to adjust the npas to make sure it was within the 1j limit - first attempt was wildly over, second was way under. I could have got it set with some continued messing, but in the end I just switched out to an aeg.

If you're looking for a gun that's right straight out of the box (i.e. - accurate and issue free) then I wouldn't recommend any GBBR, including the SCAR.

Mine certainly has accuracy issues - the hop needs replacement (underway at the moment). CO2 is the way to go (my mags are all green gas) - cheers Dave for the look at the beast that day - that helped me make the decision to change.
But that said - another player did get to fire mine off at the end of the day and he was instantly in love with the recoil - there are downsides and upsides to these things.

Happy enough with mine, has npas and a new hop up in it.

Read on a few other forums it takes a good amount of mags through it to bed in the rubber, I'm firing a couple of mags off a day and can start to see the improvement the last few days.

With green gas its kicking lovely and cycling the whole mag including slide lock.

I'll be looking to invest in co2 myself, although it WILL reduce durability, but with GBB rifles, your going to replace bits in time anyway, co2 just speeds up the process.

When it comes to putting money in then thats not an issue, I have no probs putting the money in once i know at the end i'll get the right results. Who would be the best to go to to get the work done, I usually use MIA and have always found them great to deal with but if you guys have anyone else you'd recommend then i'm all ears.
Thanks for the help by the way:D

If you've got the cash Eirsoft sell RA-TECH custom GBBRs, these are WE units with all the upgrades already done. I'm not sure if they'll be able to get the exact model you want but it doesn't hurt to ask them.

I'd recommend that option, well worth the extra cash as the WE SCARs are cheap enough already for a non clone model. The RA tech GBBRs are all good to go out of the box. It has the NPAS kit, a new hopup unit, reinforced loading nozzle and other parts. Especially worth it if you go for the CO2 version as it puts more stress on the internal parts like the recoil return rod for the bolt carrier and the recoil buffer plate at the stock.

All you have to do when you get it is strip it down lube it up and off you go.

Which would you recommend, co2 or green gas option, i was thinkin the co2 myself due to it not being affected by the cold conditions:confused:

If you don't mind the price of the CO2 canisters I'd recommend going with the CO2 version. Sure it will ware out parts faster than using green gas but it's worth it for the performance. Plus you will have an all year round GBBR with CO2. With the CO2 version you can still use green gas mags when ever you want so it's the best of both worlds as with the NPAS kit it only takes a minute to adjust between the two. When doing mag dumps with green gas and then CO2 you can really see the difference. The green gas mags are really cold after full auto fire and it takes a while to heat them up again for use. With the CO2 mags you just pop out a canister and screw in a new one and it's good to go.

My AGM M4 on 134a is of little use in the winter and the mags can't take green with the seals. The new G&P CO2 mags and a WA compatible NPAS kit will sort all that though.
