    Hi,
My computer is unable to read my memory stick. As you can imagine the data is pretty important to me, especially since I have not backed it up  Are there any companies around Dublin who specialise in this data recovery ? Any other helpful advice would really be appreciated.

    Regards,

    WH

try this freeware recovery tool and see if it works for you. I used it on an SD card to get photos and it worked well.

Does it show up in explorer (assumption!) as a drive with a letter? if you try to click it/open it in a window, does it say 'this drive is not formatted' etc

    give us more information !

there is a free program called recuva, its easy to find, but AFAIK it needs to have some partitions defined and recognizable to work. There are other programs, like GetDataBack and R-Studio, and others I'm sure (no links here....) that aren't so fussy

The drive does not appear in explorer when you put in the memory stick. Neither does the light on the memory stick light up, as it should when the coputer is trying to read it. When I try another memory stick in the drive it appears in explorer and can be read without any problems.
