I'm in the Sunny South east.
I rang 3 last night, they will get an engineer to look at the network in the area and could be 3 days before its sorted. I could not connect to 3 network manually. We did take a trip up the road last night with the laptop in the car and about 3 miles up the road the reception was great.

My modem is in the same spot for the last 6 months and since the weekend it flashes green

i will be very very surprised if they do send out an engineer i had 3 broaband for 10 months with no problems but then it went like the way your problem is and that went on for 4-5 months but 3 kept taking the money every month and with either very slow or no internet at all i got fed up of been given the run around and the excuses and promises that 3 kept giving me so i eventually got rid of them but not without a major battle and got in vodafone mobile broadband and i have them now for 4 months and i only had minor 2 problems that sorted themselves out in a few hours and i am in the south east of the country as well

you have to contact 3 tech support tell them how many days you are without broadband and its totally unacceptable and you have to give them a chance to try and fix the problem first THIS IS IMPORTANT

if they cant fix the problem then you ask for to be put through to the accounts department and explain the situation and give them a dead line for when the problem has to be fixed by but you have to be fair lets say 5 days and tell them if its not back up running by then you will be giving 30 notice of cancellation WITHOUT PAYING THE EARLY TERMINATION FEE and you have to email them as well to have a paper trail and save all emails sent or received
with the phone calls get the persons name you were talking to and right it down plus the time and date
I WILL GUARANTEE YOU THEY WILL TAKE MONEY OFF YOUR NEXT BILL

if its not fixed in the 5 days right and post it by registered post to them (PLUS SEND A EMAIL COPY OF THE LETTER TO THEM)saying you give 30 notice of cancellation due to the problems you are having and you have contacted tech support many times to try and resolve the matter with out any success and you have no other choice but to cancel the contract

but you have to be firm with them if its not fixed dont let them keep fobbing you off because they will if you let them

no you just can cancel the bank draft without informing them your cancelling the contract because they will just keep looking for the money out of your bank every month and as for signing anything are you 100% sure you signed nothing the day you got the modem because i bet you did without you realising you did

because if you cancel only the bank without informing 3 they will just change there account no and take it out that way because in my case i was thinking along your lines and i just cancelled the bank because i was pissed off with them like you are but they just kept changing there account no and doing it with me until i cancelled the contract you have to be as smart as what they are because if your not they will just keep taking the piss out of you

You would have received a sim card with the modem correct? I presume you didn't read the t&c's in the pack. One of then states that by using the service you agree to the rest of them. If you bought the modem on line or via Tele sales then you don't have to sign a contract for that contract to be valid.

    Hi,

I've had 3 broadband in Limerick for over a year and it just stopped working yesterday. I've either got no signal or it'll connect but won't load any pages.

Rang 1913 about 4 times last night and they fobbed us off with the same couple of tasks and when that didn't work they said there was congestion on the line and to wait half an hour. I'm really annoyed as my partner and I both rely heavily on the internet. I work from home and have been able to do nothing since yesterday. 1913 are anything but helpful.

Does anyone have any tips that might get the net working again?
