Was that quote thing for the England v Germany match? If so (West) Germany hosted the WC and won 2-1 against Holland in the final in 1974.

This seems like an 'unsafe' bet for the bookmaker to make. Could the commentator not tell a friend what he would say beforehand? That's not a crime and it's arguable over whether it's unethical or not. Paddy Power doesn't have a right to say what he can tell his friend or not. Hell, he could bet on it himself on what he was going to say. Unless Paddy Power entered him into an agreement beforehand he should have done it.
