    Hi there,

I am trying to make decision on Freesat system, but have a few questions, as this is all new to me. Plan is to get HD freesat dish, aerial for HD terrestrial, have a multi switch in central hub then feed signal to four rooms at most at any one time.

One concern is reliability! Is Freesat reliable in all weather conditions?

Ditching UPC in main room! I would like to get Freesat + box in main room, instead of UPC or Sky + box. Is this feasible solution, and is it reliable? If I went for Freesat+ I presume I would go for a set top box, rather than buying a TV with built in Freesat receiver. Am I correct?

I don't currently own a TV, so going north to get 2 Freesat TV's. Question is whether there are TV's available under 32" in size with built in Freesat receiver?
Any recommendations on sellers and type of TV would be appreciated. Love the Panasonic stuff, but the bank manager might not!!!!

Would really appreciate any knowledge you might have?

You don't say where you live but I'll assume it's in the south.

I think you may have a few little errors here.Freesat is on a Dish, Freeview is on an Ariel and not available in Ireland. We will have our version of freeview but any of the TV's bought in NI won't do it (sweeping statement but normally true).
Freesat is extremely reliable and works very well. No RTE on it though. If you go down the Freesat route you'll need a separate cable from the dish to each freesat box (2 if its +).

I would go for separate set top boxes myself as they are available from about €60 on ebay.

    Thanks for that.

RTE terrestrial coming in through aerial, so I presume this can be fed to Freesat TV along with the satellite signal.

I think what you are saying is Freesat is reliable, and thanks for heads up on why 2 cables needed. Could not understand why?

2 cables are needed for the "+" box*... i.e. if you want to watch one channel while recording another you need 2 feeds from the dish.

    * It is possible to run a + box with just 1 single cable but it will be way less flexible (regarding you watching/recording options) than using 2 feeds
