    Hi
Can anyone please help. my partner has a ford transit connect and since getting new battery (few months ago) it's saying "unlock 10". Brought it to ford garage and they referred us to scansounds. Scansounds looking for €50 to unlock it which is ridiculous because it's just a built in cassette player.
Checked online and think ive got unlock code for it but dont know how to enter it on radio as numbers only go from 1 to 6. Also read that if it says Unlock 10 on radio, the code has been entered wrong too many times and have to bring it to audio specialist to unlock - is this true?
What can i do without paying €50 or do you know of anyone who can do a lot cheaper. Anything at this stage as just want to be able to play radio while driving!!

When it asks for the code you normally use buttons 1 to 4 press button 1 for the first digit of your code button 2 for the second etc.. So if the code is 1234 you'd press button one once, button 2 twice button 3 three times and button 4 four times.

    hi
No radio card wasnt with original paperwork. I think i have the code (sourced on internet) but it's not letting me enter it as it's says "unlock 10" i.e. no option coming up on radio to enter the 4 digit code.

Code was something like 4796 so wasnt sure how i enter digit 7 or 9

Have you disconected the battery power and tried again?

btw its often easier just to replace the radio.

Or just leave it on, they sometimes enforce a preset time between attempts to enter a code.

Sure, but isn't the cheapest and easiest route to that to just get the existing radio working? The first thing you need to do is to find out exactly how to enter the code into that radio, then you need to make sure you have the correct code. Have a look through the owners manual and service book, the code is often noted somewhere in there. The supplying dealer should also have the code.

i know its a bit far away OP but Pat Grace in Loughrea specializes in radio repairs incl. Codes. Definitely wouldn't charge fifty euro for it.
