Breaking BAD

If you are looking for a new gritty series this is it. Stars the Dad from Malcom in the Middle but here he plays a serious part and has received a few awards for his performance. He plays a Chemistry Teacher who finds out he has lung cancer and decides to manufacture Meth to fund his cancer care and provide for his family after his death.

You just watch this seemingly mild mannered Pillar of society descend into badness. It does turn out he has complex reasons beyond those above for taking this "turn" . First Series has only 8 episodes but Im sure by now you can get Series one and Two. No sign of it on Tv over here. Fintan O'Toole gave it a great review a few months back and an example of how slow RTE is to put on gritty series.

Third season has just finished across the water. I think most people who watch it would agree that its the best thing currently still airing on TV at the moment.

Edit - If you do a search their are threads for season 1 and 2.

    Its a good show, I started on S1 a few days ago , on S02E07 now ...

I like it but find it quite depressing ...

It is a massive injustice that it isn't airing on Irish stations! :(

I do wonder wehy TV3 don't pick it up. RTÉ afterall buy up the rights to almost everything so that TV3 cannot show them.

As soon as ITV / UTV start airing it, they'll get right on it! ;)

Best show I've seen in a long time! Became obsessed with it for a while and ended up watching seasons 1 2 and 3 in about two weeks! Bryan Cranston is brilliant in it.

Exactly what I just did, just finished S3 today ... now we have to wait till next July for S4 :( ...

At least Dexter is starting up in September, allthough I'd nearly say BB is better then Dexter..

Without a doubt one of the best shows I have seen.

Brian Cranston is unreal in it..............

Just finished season 3 last week. What an ending...............this show has a lot of curve balls.

    What to watch now eh........
