Unusual Attic Conversion

    Hi

I have an attic over the garage room which is joined to the neighbours. I would like to convert this to an office, but just use the stira to go up and down. The pitch in the roof is about 8 foot, which means i would have around 7 foot in height which would be fine. The room itself is about 10 foot wide and would be 14 foot long.

The problem, or maybe its not is that one wall is block, the joining wall to the neighbours is not, it seems to be just timber. Would this be able to be converted or would it support the support beams that would need to go in.

    thanks

Can you explain more about the garage position in relation to your neighbour?
Is you garage attached to your neighbour?
What is the ceiling height in the attic at the eaves?

Yes, my garage room is connected to the neighbours garage room.

The ceiling height at the eaves is 8 1/2 foot.

I should add i have a stira upto it and i just really want to leave that there and put in a velux. Its really just to have a nice office space there.
