My gf and I both work full time and generally only see each other on weekends. We're together just over a year, and things are really great.we get aong very well.

Recently, I've been thinking about being single. I woke up the other morning and realised that I don't really feel that strongly for her anymore. i dont know why. I realised that I wouldnt be too upset if she broke everything off.

This weekend is the first one in a long time that I had to myself (shes away). It was great catching up with old friends and doing what I wanted to do. It was great having no responsibilities to anyone.

I wonder is this normal? I'm not the cheating type and wouldnt do anything like that, but I felt really liberated this weekend.

Is it a case of the grass being greener? Is it just an illusion? I think if we were to break up, I'd miss her terribly after a while...

    Anyone got any advice/opinions?

    Thanks.

i think if you know that you'd miss her terribly after breaking up you need to ask yourself why... would you miss the security of having someone there or would it be more than that...

if you both work full time and only see eachother at weekends you could be stuck in a rut...especially now that you've reached the one year mark and the honeymoon stage is well over..

why don't you go away together for a weekend and then take the weekend after off seeing eachother to mix it up a bit and to get a bit of freedom for yourself

personally speaking i find routine a big passion-killer!

    +1 to this

Op, you say you only really see each other at weekends, do you feel obliged to see her every weekend? Could it be you just need to spend some weekends with friends and doing things without her? Personally, I think a year is a short time to be feeling you have a responsibility to someone.

Maybe you need to strike a balance between spending time with your gf but also having some time just for you.

I would say talk to her, if you are feeling like this she may be also.

Sounds to me like you need a nice holiday away together.
