My SB-800 has randomly stopped working. I changed the batteries to find some corrosion on the battery compartment lid.

Any ideas? Any place that services flashes in Dublin? Dislike the thought of having to fork out for a new one, it's a great unit.

try cleaning the contacts first before seeking repairs. the batteries might just not be contacting with the metallic strip or spring properly.

had something like that in the past
had to send it in for service
this only happened to one out of 4 sb-800 I had (sold the other 3 and kept this one)
official nikon repair costs are different depending where (what country) you send it to

my repair end up costing me just over 100 quid... :(, they replaced the systemboard
