I see Micheal Manring is doing a clinic at x-music this coming Sat., anybody here planning on goin ? I'm not sure I could handle 2 hours of his type of music, but the dude is pretty awesome so might just head along.
Anyone gone to any of the sessions at x-music ? Any good in general ?
It's 'only' a tenner so I guess I might just take a punt.
Or is it a sell out already ??

I'm not a massive fan of his music, but I do like what I've heard so far. I'm probably going to head along to check it out.

What are the point of these things

Is there a Q&A or 1:1 time with the guy? I dunno all seems to be a pointless exercise!

So I guess I'll not be going.

I think it's a Q&A type thing with him playing a few tunes along the way.
Not really sure, never been to one, anyone else here know the format of these things ? They are saying it's two hours long, that's a lot of questions.

I have often wondered about this myself. Even with a Q&A session, I'm sure the same information could be got from some research on the net. If there was a lottery where people were picked for a one to one with him, then that would be different.

    Maybe someone can enlighten us.

    It's prolly gonna be a talk/demo with a free-flowing q&a throughout.

That's what others I've seen are like.

Prolly be 30 mins perfomance, then a bit of talk then some questions, some demo, some questions etc.

I don't love his music, but his technique is pretty unbelievable.

He'll happily play 2 basses at once and retune the basses WHILE he plays.

    Crazy stuff.

A good example of someone that shows how stupid one has to be to think that people like Flea are really all that technically amazing; they aren't.

For a tenner you can't go wrong really, even if he only plays for half an hour.

Ok i see what you mean. But surely you can see this stuff on line. I dunno, don't see the point in going and watching someone play something.

Ah well, I'm sure it will be good if your in to it.

Watched a couple of vids of that guy earlier, and I'm not tempted to go hear him I have to say. Like Opera, it's technically great, but dull as dishwater.

By the sounds of things they might get more people to turn up if he promises to only play for half an hour :-)

well, if you're into technique for its own sake, you'd wanna see this guy... as he's inhumanly technically good

Over an hour late kicking off but worth the wait and certainly worth the money.

Great little venue downstairs. Excellent sound quality.
Great to see a master of the instrument in action up close.
