Can anyone recommend a good sympathetic dentist in North Dublin who provides twilight sedation. My Mum is 77 and is terrified of dentists due to some horrific experiences in the past but now has teeth crumbling and needs to get them out.She is not that strong in herself so I am looking to find a dentist who is kind and capable and has a nurse on hand if there are any complications - can anyone please help with info ?Thanks Dee

If you mother plans on using her medical card, then sedation will not be part of the treatment. You could try getting referred to the oral surgery department in the dublin dental hospital but the waiting list are pretty long.

Going privatly then you general dentist may do sedation or can refer you to an oral surgeon who does sedation or GA. If she has systemic illness this may not be an option and a good dentist, who gives her plenty of time and understanding will be able to provide treatment under local anaesthetic only.

    Reccomendations by PM only please.
