Just got an iphone 3gs,bought it first and was working perfectly first but now quite often it isn't!

when i go to press the screen it doesn't repong or i have to keep tapping it to eventually get into settings for example,or when i try to drag my finger across the screen nothing happens,i eventually works and can work perfectly but always acts the mick again eventually its really annoying, could the screen be broke??
do i need to update the software?

a complete novice with all this so any help greatly appreciated!cheers!

type the seriel number into apples warranty checker. it might still be under warranty.

if it is, Apple might replace it.

yeah, its like an OS for a real pc, sometimes you need to give it a quick reinstall of the software to iron out the kinks.

Turning it off and on again regularily should help. Sometimes it just needs to reboot

is it possible that you're touching the screen somewhere else, that could stop it detecting the intended motion?
