Group text messages on iphone?

    Will be getting ip4 soon.

    Wanted to know is there an inbuilt function that allows me to create contact groups so that I can send sms to, or am i better off getting a dedicated app like mass text messaging?

    Sending group sms's is important for me.

    There's is no specific feature to set up contact groups but what you can do is send a text to a all the people who you would like to group together (by adding each contact to the text, not separate texts!). The iphone does threaded messages so when you want to text the same group again just go to messages and to the group text and you can just send another to the same people. It's not ideal but should do what your looking for?

    Well I've different groups msgs to send twice a week....ranging from 80 contacts to 250 contacts....so the above would not do.

    Christ I thought the iphone allowed you to create group contacts? That more or less the reason why I sold my N900!!:confused:

    I'm not sure what the issue is. The first time you send the message to multiple contacts, the group is then saved for later use. You do this once for each group and then it's done.

    Ok well then thats fine...as long as I don't have to keep clicking 250+ contacts each time i wanted to send a group sms.

    I also see there are various apps that allow users to create group contacts..which is nice.

    I've free any network texts with o2 so webtext woudl'nt be any good since you only get 250 free per month.
