I hope someone can help me, we have just agitated our shed and have discovered a lump the size of a round bale in one of the tanks. We had a few caws which always drag in silage into the pen and this must have been what happened. Has this ever happened to anyone before...any help would be great, thanks

ive never heard of this happening but if your able to agitate the rest of the tank and empty it then if you know someone with a digger put a small bucket on it and 2 people 1 driving and one guiding him could break it up with the digger and lift it out but there would be alot of shunting around with the digger to get the backactor out each time i would imagine but that certainly is a strange problem  best of luck with it though

ya we have an old shed that very difficult to agitate because of its poor design..anyway had to replace slats there about 2 years ago, found an massive pile at the back of tank, its only 5 ft deep so was able to get it out with mini digger when a few slats were taken up..messy job now..the little wall underneath the barrier had broken one year and they dragged in a heap of silage..i think thats when the problem began

    Two words:

    Road Compressor

Hire one, put plenty of water in the tank and make up a lance to nuke the solid stuff.

Works so well we bought our own compressor last year.

Thanks for the tips guys, the compressor might be a good option, will look into it. Hate the idea of lifting slats so the mini digger might be the final option. Im filling up the tank with water for now and will try this for a start...not sure it will help though.....will keep you all posted...thanks
