Latest official ROM is 1.23, not FroYo though. No issues with bluetooth on that ROM.

If you really want FroYo, there's a leaked ROM with 2.2 and Sense. 720p as well which is a nice bonus.

Eh, it's only 11th of July. Froyo probably won't reach the Desire in any official capacity until September. The fact there are already somewhat credible ROM's available is pure luck. It's only thanks to a pre-release build being leaked so early that some people on rooted devices can have it. HTC certainly seem to be eager to get it out but creating, adapting and testing any software of this caliber takes time.
If you don't think you can wait that long I'd suggest putting some thought into rooting your phone. By all reports back there may be a few issues in the ROM's available but nothing major and for the most part they run fine. Other than that you're in for a long wait!

Ye if you want the latest build of Android you get a Nexus One or you root your phone or you have to wait for htc updates etc which take much much longer.

Also despite being annouced in May, Froyo only officially hit the nexus one at the start of July.
