Bad reception of Five HD & ESPN America HD

    I've recently added these two to my Dreambox but the reception is very poor - not freezing but a lot of black interference. All other channels (SD & HD) are fine. I have a standard Sky dish and an inline amplifier is connected.

    Is this happening to anyone else? Any suggestions? :confused:

    But does that mean the quality should be crap? What about ESPN America HD?

    Are they working for you?

    ESPN America HD certainly doesn't have poor reception.

    Test transmissions are exactly what they are called, tests, there are liable to breakups etc...poor transmission rates, hence why there freq have to be added to view them...

    ESPN America HD has already launched so that wouldn't be a test transmission.

    I've done some more digging on this and looks like its a problem for others as well. could be that the transponder is a weak one. If its on the eurobird satellite it is the weakest at 28e.

    That is more likely an issue with the SKY HD boxes and the EPG software. Two users on this forum have reported the same issue I'm getting the same problems - http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055936080&page=4.

    My non-sky boxes (Windows XP + Mediaportal HTPC's) are receiving FIVE HD load and clear with no receiption issues.

    Hmm... I've a Dreambox 800HD and they aren't coming in clear. It's just strange that all other HD channels are ok.
