Though we did have a good run at it over the past few months the weather has been great for golf and kept clubs afloat. Now the rain has started it wont know when to stop. Our course is closed with next inspection at 11am but looking at the radar images it looks like the south-east is in for a soaking, Cork / Kerry look like they've been washed away. If it's going to be a repeat of last year I fear that the finances on many clubs will be severely affected as many are just hanging in there. And then there's the bar/restaurants in clubs trying to survive.
Still, I got out yesterday...in the rain...and my gear is still drying off...so is my golf equipment :D.
Is the Scottish Open live on BBC today? (Don't have Sky Sports :()

Hoping this will pass soon. The last 3 days it has rained the second I stepped onto the 1st tee. Then it stops and starts again when I'm at the furthest point from the clubhouse.

Lashed rain on Saturday for the Captains Prize at my club (Ballykisteen). After 6 weeks or more of great weather as well and the one day you want nice weather you don't get it. Of course the day after was lovely also!

Brasso; it's your only man. The brother swears be it. Great for lot of things...piano keys, tar off the car, brill when I used a scouring pad on the missus' bonnet (of the car ) to remove stubborn finger prints...Brasso came to the rescue ;)

I think we need to rename our seasons.

Ireland & Britain no longer has spring and summer. They almost always have a very pleasant May & June followed by the rainy season - July & August - followed by a very pleasant September.

More like the Indian climate. Just less extremes.
