Testing air for moulds/fungii/toxins

Wasn't sure where to post this but think this might be the most appropriate place for it.

Hoping someone can tell how to go about testing the air for moulds/fungii or other airborne toxins. The house in question was an old bungalow that has been converted to a two-story.

The reason i ask is there have been some complaints of respiratory problems in the house; and there has been evidence in the past of mould growing on bookshelves. I am sure this is no small part due to the majority of the existing external walls being solid concrete; no cavity or insulation.

Your help would be appreciated on this one as its something that really needs to be sorted out very soon.

This thread has been moved to health sciences from DIY at the request of the OP. We discussed a number of forums that we could possibly move it too as it was not generating any responses in DIY, and the OP selected health sciences as the best possible option. Any help that can be provided here to the OP would be gratefully appreciated.

My mum's an architect and she sometimes got mould tested by a guy she knew in UCD. I PM'd you his email address, don't know if he generally does tests for the public but he's a mould expert so he may be able to point you in the direction of someone who does.
