Humax Foxsat failure - electricity issue?

Our electricity went off briefly (less than 30 secs) earlier this evening at about 8.20. The Humax was in mid-recording of a scheduled series programme (Pie in the Sky) and about to record the Mentalist (also a scheduled series). Pie in the Sky did not fully record (20 minutes is all I got) which I understand a bit, though why it didn't complete the remaining time frame is a bit disappointing. However, what I don't understand is why the Mentalist, which was due to begin 40 minutes later at 9pm, didn't record at all
This is the first time the Humax has let me down although we're no strangers to electricity interruptions. Is this a normal occurrence with electricity failures and scheduled programmes? Is there possibly an internal battery in the Humax which needs replacing, rather like some of the older DVD recorders?

Can't comment on power cuts but, my Humax seems to have crashed when beginning recording on a couple of occasions. It rebooted itself but did not continue the recording.

However, I'm not sure that I ever experienced problems with the recoridng of later programmes. I am wondering in your case whether you might have had a recording conflict in your schedule.

I know that in the past there have been software bugs which created some recording problems but I thought they had mostly solved these.

No recording conflict in this instance - it's connected with dual cables and these programmes were the only 2 in the schedule for last night. I suppose I may just chalk it up to one of those things - at least the Mentalist is on RTE on Sunday :)
I've been searching Google since and a suggestion made seems somewhat likely - a so called 'dirty' power off can affect the schedule if it was mid programme or about to start a programme. Hopefully it won't happen again.
