My cousin is having a problem getting his DSi online. When he gets to the second connecting sreen, it glitches every time. He used to be able to connect, but found he couldn't one day last summer.

I never bothered updating from my DS Lite, so I can't really help him out. Has anyone here had this problem?

I'd say its the same issue that the Wii, Xbox and other consoles with internet connectivity have - your firewall. Try reducing your firewall strength to medium or low and see if that fixes things. It can be done from the configuration screen for your router (which is different, depending on what ISP you are with).

That's the thing, my Wii, PS3 and 360 can all connect. His problem occurs both in my house and his own, where he has a Wii connected. It seems rather strange, I wonder if it's a problem with the DSi itself?

    OK then, fair enough. :)

What do you mean it glitches? Does it freeze? Does the screen corrupt? Does it bomb out to the main menu? Does he get an error message?

When he goes to the DSi shop, it says "Connecting to the internet...Please wait a moment..." and loads as normal.

It then goes to the "Connecting...Please wait..." and glitches. The rotating square freezes and the music stops.

He has to hold down the power button for longer than usual (about 6 seconds) to turn it off.

    Any ideas?!
