    The first ever caucasian sub 10 second 100m was finally broken today when Christopher LeMaitre ran a new French record in the French Champs today in a time of 9.98. This is the first time the feat has ever been achieved by a caucasion great achievement for the 19 year old

    Obviously not but the fact that only one person has come close (running 10.00) which was more than 40 years ago surely highlights the fact that this is a major achievement though we are still a long way off the likes of Bolt and Gay and that it is still in itself an achievement which deserves to be recognized

    A quick google of black sprinters throws up a pretty big can of worms. Lots of discussion going on regarding genetic predispositions.

    It's not really a can of worms though, is it? It's accepted that people of West African origin tend to have more fast twitch muscle fibre than any other 'race'.
