Most clubs see newbies every other week so its nothing new to them! Most times they arent interested in you because they see one person one week then another then another people think they want to do and spend a couple of days and then drop out. If your serious about it you need to just go. With time you will build a relationship with the other boxers / kickboxers and wont feel like your going on your own. If its a club that competes you will get training but unless your willing to fight most times they arent going to spend the time and have you properly trained.

That's exactly why I started training. As long as you do it more than once a week it should have a big impact on your fitness. Don't be worried about being a beginner, most clubs would get new beginners starting on a weekly basis, or near enough.

I have to strongly disagree with the above comment, yes club see beginners come and go every week,a good club welcomes these people after all a club can not survive on the one group of students alone , people change , their lives change, they may move away get injuried etc. Good instructors make the beginners feel welcome as much as any other student,, yes most clubs are geared towards competing but they dont neglect beginners if they are in the same class as fighters infact most clubs have seperate beginners classes or courses or extra fighter only classes for those competing.

So basicly if your a beginner looking for a good club , do a little research first, check out the instructors , check their qualifications, Dan grade HSE certification(if teaching kids) etc call up and watch a class, ask the instructor questions he/she should be able to answer them to your satisfaction and if finally after that you try and dont enjoy the class you can always look elsewhere as instructors vary as much as the styles themselves!
