That's a nasty old injury. As far as i know a physio can't do much for it. Had it myself for a few months and the only thing ya can really do for it is iceing. If you want to get rid of this problem i'd recommend ease right back off the running and do a bit of cross-training such as cycling or swimming. These are non-weight bearing sports unlike running and will not affect the bursitis. Hope that helps somewhat.

    See a physio.
The prognosis is different depending on where its located in the knee.
There is a possibility that it can be effectively treated with ice and anti-inflammatories without a long lay-off.

I'm also in Greystones and use the below, both excellent therapists....

    Darren Kelly - Greystones - 0863621900
    Alex Gleeson - Kilcoole - 0868239992

something can be done about it, i.e. deep tissue work to release surrounding muscles to relieve pressure on Bursa. Stop Exercising! Or use another option like Acupuncture or Low intensity Laser

Thanks for the response, I took your advice and have hit the pool. Knee was feeling much better but a bit of work in the garden at the weekend, knocked me right back. So back to ice and wearing a strap. Taking a couple of nurofen evry 6 hours for the pain..ouch
