    Hi All,

Is reasonably priced golf rain proof gear available to buy? Other than paying hundreds of euros. Budget up to €150 max for both trousers and jacket/top. Thanks for your help.

For that money you're not really going to get anything properly waterproof I'd say. You get what you pay for really.

Keep a eye out in TK max they always have good quality jackets not so many bottoms.

I got pringle water proof bottoms in elverys on suffolk street yesterday for €42.50 they are reduced from €85. They seem good quailty, but by the looks of things I'll be testing them out this weekend. They also had pringle jackets as well

You can get Berghaus waterproof trousers in 53 deg north for about 50 euro and they are very good. only drawback is pockets, but they're as good as goretex and not too heavy.

Any recommendations for just a jacket? They all seem to be pretty expensive.

where are u based ,my local golf shop has a pretty decent sale on,i'd say you'd need maybe another €50 or so,that would get you a good suit that will last years
2 things not to scrimp on are shoes and wet gear imo

you'll have plenty of Choice for under €150, If its got a waterproof rating on its waterproof, The military considers a fabric to be waterproof only when it’s rated to 25-psi or better, and you don’t have to look too hard to find a jacket with a 20,000-mm (20K) waterproof rating......I agree they more you pay the better it can be, i.e. higher rating and softer materials.

Too things never to skimp on as far as Im concerned are good waterproofs and comfortable golf shoes. I've had a gortex Sunderland jacket for about 4 years and its never let me down, including a matchplay yesterday evening when it was lashing it down. It was expensive but well worth it and I will buy another when this one gives up the ghost.
By the way a mate of mine swears by Stuburt gear, its not expensive but seems decent quality for the price.

Was in Elverys in Galway today. They've a half price sale on Pringle and Kartel rainsuits, 3 yr rainproof guarantee. Seem to be pretty decent. Looking at €110 for jacket and trousers after the reduction.

I've only ever used Galvin Green and find them excellent. I also use them for mountain and trail trekking so I get good value out of them.

If you want to make sure you're going to stay dry, it's got to be Galvin Green, although it is expensive stuff :(
Maybe FootJoy waterproofs (http://www.onlinegolf.co.uk/MultiBuy/Multibuy---FootJoy-Outerwear/508did.asp) or a Nike suit (http://www.onlinegolf.co.uk/golf-clothes/waterproofs/342scog/6241pog.asp)??

save up the extra for the galvin green they are the best by far ,buy cheap buy twice or if your like me three times.
the galvins are 100 percent water proof, not just shower proof.
pay the extra get the best.

they got some stylish t-shirts as well these days
normally they sacrifice design for quality/performance
these days you need a mix of both
IJP Design perhaps need to learn this lession as well
