The best matches on Monday Night RAW/is War from the 90's?

WWE are releasing compilation DVDs of RAW and it got me to thinking what were some of the best matches. There's loads of non-wrestling segments that are undoubtedly memorable but can anyone remember any of their favourite matches up until around 2000?

One of mine was from 1995. It was a 6-man tag betwen Undertaker, HBK& Diesel vs. Yokozuna, British Bulldog & Owen Hart. Diesel/HBK had just beaten Yoko/Hart/Bulldog for the tag straps. The match ended in a schmawz when Dean Douglas came out to attack Michaels and Mabel attacked and legit injured 'Taker. I just always loved how big and wild the match was :)

It's hard to think back to some of the quality of the matches though. In '96 when Michaels was the champion there were some bizarre pairings like matches againts Billy Gunn or tag matches with Ahmed Johnson. I think he had one with Steve Austin but I can't really remember it too well.

I remember some great Alliance matches, Hardy/RVD had a great feud while Rock fought the Dudleyz in a handicap tables match too which was pretty awesome.

Bret Hart versus 1 2 3 Kid was brilliant at the time. Owen Hart and The British Bulldog had a great match in Germany for the European title.

I also loved the Owen Hart & British Bulldog vs Steve Austin and a mystery partner which turned out to be the debut of Dude Love. Not a wrestling classic but a great story.

Perfect and Flair had a good match on the first ever RAW AFAIK.

Also there was a great 10 man tag involving Too Cool, the Rock and Foley vs the Radicals and DX if i remember rightly.

Just two random matches that spring to mind.

1997 had a lot of good matches. Usually booked fairly short I thought but the running USA vs. Canada fued provided some great atmosphere and huge pops. The Owen Hart/Bulldog match was brilliant and it was a shame they never ran with that pairing previously. Around '94 when Bulldog came back to side with Bret against Owen/Neidhart there were some various tag matches.

Ah yeah Perfect/Flair is a given :) It's kinda hard to think back to the Monday Night Raw's pre-1997 isn't it? There seems to be only a few that are really standouts.

Michaels and Bulldog had a match sometime in '95 after the Rumble which I remember being fantastic but I've not seen it in years.

I dont think there was any better matches in Raws history than HBK versus Marty Jannetty for the I.C belt or Bret Hart versus the 1-2-3 Kid. Some extra matches that probably cant be touched are Mick Foley versus Terry Funk, a number of the Hunter Hearst Helmsly versus Mankind/Cactus Jack(the one with Cactus Jack debut with the 3 Foley segment at the start is probably the best), Mr.Perfect versus Ric Flair loser leaves Raw and the British Bulldog versus Owen Hart for the European title and Doink versus Marty Jannetty 2 out of 3 falls. Some of the greatest matches in wrestling history given away for free.

Ive said it before and i'll say it again, my favourite Raw match of all-time will always be HHH and Stone Cold vs Jericho/Benoit, f*ck i love that match, and that whole storyline in general, that was one of the WWF's biggest ever highlights for me.. I look back on it on it very fondly and really wish HHH and Benoit hadn't have gotten injured when they did, and can guarantee that the Invasion angle and storyline would have been so much better with those 2 guys in it..

The Rock & Mankind had a couple of memorable matches, who could forget Austin marching down and helping Mick win the title

Then they also had a ladder match to give the belt back to Rock after it was decided Foley wasnt wanted in the 'Mania main event

Ye see, I was kinda thinking pre-1997. I'd agree that the two you mentioned are the two big standout matches along with Perfect/Flair of course :)
