    Hi folks,

Heading away to Lahinch with mrs shaungil and the shaungillies for a week in Lahinch tomorrow.

Any recomendations for good spins around there. Prob need a few hills to work on the weaknesses and won't be doing more than 2 to 3 hours max.

    Thx

You have the cliffs of moher very near to you. You can actually take a look on the Tour de burren route, it might give you some ideas.

I'd recommend going from Lahinch to Doolin via Liscannor and The Cliffs. Big climb from Liscannor up to the Cliffs, then a drop down to sea level in Doolin, then back up the cliffs again on the way back to Lahinch. That would be a decent workout!

you could head over towards the burren and head down corkscrew hill.....then think twice before heading back up it!! would be a nice climb for you!!!

Did a charity 100k last weekend from Limerick to Doonbeg via Lahinch. The journey from Lahinch in that direction heads to Spanish Point etc is great. Just watch for the prevailing wind in your face and a few sharp hills.

The route given by thebouldwhacker is popular and well worth doing. The prevailing s/w winds can be strong on exposed coastline so it is less severe done clockwise.
You could also go south on N67 through Miltown Malbay / Spanish Point, Quilty and Doonbeg, retrace that route or return via Connoly, Inagh and Ennistymon.
The road surface in the Burren is coarse and recently I have taken to using a hybrid and riding on the link roads which are practically deserted and far more interesting I think.
