[COMP] The Clean Coasts Photography Competition 2010

    Ireland has some of the most beautiful and spectacular coastlines in the world. The Clean Coasts programme which is operated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce facilitates communities to learn about, manage, conserve and enhance this wonderful natural resource.


    The Clean Coasts Photography Competition 2010 wants you to get out there and photograph what the coast means to you. The total prize fund of this year's competition is 3,000 euro. To learn more about the Clean Coasts Photography Competition 2010 click here

    Looks interesting, especially the €750 (damn I tought it was €3k) prize ! but..............you mentioned a durty word there...... PI.net :D

    Rules:
    Rules & Conditions
    1) All images to have been taken within the Republic of Ireland within the last 24 months. The competition is open to amateur photographers only of any nationality.

    2) Digital processing such as contrast, selective exposure and colour adjustments, removal of dust marks and sharpening is acceptable. Digital manipulation, including composite images and the addition and/or subtraction of objects is prohibited. Images should retain their naturalism and integrity.

    3) Images that have won other competitions are not eligible.

    4) Entries must be submitted digitally. Details are in the how to enter section.

    5) The closing date for entries is 5pm August 21st 2010. Any entries received outside this timeframe will not be considered.

    6) Entrants confirm they are the sole author of the work and it is their original entry. They own the copyright and all other intellectual property rights to each image. They have the permission of anyone featured in the image (or in the case of under18s, the consent of the parent or primary guardian).

    7) Copyright remains with the entrant although winning images will be used in conjunction with our media partners and for additional press purposes. This may include; brochures or printed produce relating to the competition, the organisers website or websites connected to the competition and work of An Taisce.

    8.) Maximum number of entries for any category per person is 3.

    9) The organisers reserve the right to remove entrants that breach or contravene laws of public decency or may bring the entrant into disrepute.

    10) The above information is correct although the organiser reserves the right to change any of the above without prior notice. Any breach by the entrant of the above terms and conditions will render their entry invalid. If a breach has occurred but is discovered after the award of a prize then the organisers may request the return of the prize.

    Judging

    A selected panel of judges will assess all entries and a shortlist will be announced following the closing date on the website and courtesy of our digital and print media partners. All shortlisted entrants will be contacted by telephone and requested to supply the original high resolution file. Failure to produce this within the requested time-frame of 7 days will result in elimination from the shortlist.

    An Taisce can not be held responsible for emails that do not arrive due to technical issues. Shortlisted entrants will also be asked to provide an extended caption.

    All winners will be notified by telephone and the prize presentation will be held in Dublin in September 2010.
