The nipples have not been the same since Cork...a couple of times the skin broke and we had some blood and they opened up again last night.
With the race tonight i need to cover them up somehow,i used some homemade plasters just there on my small trot of a recovery and they fell off so i need the real deal.
I had them before and they stayed on for days...

Does anyone know where in waterford i would get them ?
Are they available in chemists ?

    Help

    Hi,

I feel your pain, nothing as bad as a good run only to have chaffed the nipples off yourself.
The use of a compression top is the only thing I wear now. Have tried all the other stuf in different forms. Compression top, Nike do a light enough one and no more chaffing.

Just use a regular plaster? If you're hairy you'll have to shave to get the plaster to stay on but once it's stuck to bare skin it should stick firmly.

Dunno if that'll work with your nipples in a state but it keeps mine from chafing, rain or shine.

vaseline and a tech t shirt/nike dri fit does it for me and by god do i sweat a lot !

The normal cotton t shirts did me in, i had two lovely trails of blood down a white t shirt after a run a few months ago where i didn't wear a compression top underneath.

Shave a neat circle around your nipples* and use waterproof plasters. Use the long strips of plaster and cut off a large piece - they are better at staying on. Failing that use duct tape:D

*warning - this will make you a laughing stock in the swimmng pool.

I suffer big time with nipple chaffing and have tried everything. In the past 12 months I use plasters in Lidl. They are waterproof plasters in a purple box and I swear by them. Ive ran cork with them, Ive even used them in Triathlons and they stayed on. Ok it can be sore taking them off but Id rather that then stinging nipples in the shower.

I use micropore bandage tape, rather than plasters. They're not as sticky, but sticky enough to stay on during my runs (which are less than 2 1/2 hours so far)

I use this stuff - the 1 inch wide variety over a layer of vaseline. Take two large lengths of the tape (so the tape extends well beyond the vaseline) to form an X over the nipple. This way if I were to loose the tape the vaseline would still be there. With bandaids etc you cannot add vaseline without compromising the tape.

I find wearing a heart rate monitor does the job, I forgot it in Paris last year and I bled from the 1/2 way point, ended up running the last 10 miles topless, only put it back on for my finishing photo.
Also warm weather compression tops are a good alternative and you got the figure to pull it off ;)

Thanks lads and ladies...i wore a compression top under my club singlet tonight as the weather was malogen ( waterford word ),so no ill effects thankfully, but will look into some of these suggestions

If all else fails, cut 2 holes* in your running tops (around the nipples). This is a fail safe method, but with the added rider of being the laughing stock of the parish (and probably beyond).

I'm seriously thinking of patenting this novel approach :o.
