Hi, friend of mine who has an old ibook (afik the last model before the 13' plastic white MacBook came out), has just purchased a new 13' MacBook pro, and I told her that she could transfer her old stuff across to the new MacBook using a firewire and putting the iBook in target disc mode. I'm just asking what Firewire…

Hi, friend of mine who has an old ibook (afik the last model before the 13' plastic white MacBook came out), has just purchased a new 13' MacBook pro, and I told her that she could transfer her old stuff across to the new MacBook using a firewire and putting the iBook in target disc mode. I'm just asking what Firewire cable will she need to do this. Thanks in advance

The newer MBPs come with firewire 800 ports, so she will need a 800 to 400 adapter such as this http://www.amazon.com/Firewire-800-9-6-Adapter-Rohs/dp/B000LGGAD4/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278672566&sr=8-8 and a firewire 400 cable.

Or just get a 6-pin to 9-pin cable. Then no need for an adapter.
