I was up in my brothers the other day, and the next door neighbour has his own shed with dogs. About 3 or 4 of them kept on howling.

Annoying! Couldn't get any piece and quiet.

Because dogs howl to try and gather their pack together.

My neighbour's dog howls everyday at 5.58pm for 5 minutes. He used to start howling when the church bells went at 6pm but it's like he's psychic .

I don't let my dog interact with him :o.

Are the dogs kept in the shed ?

If so they would howl out of frustration and boredom. It's cruel to keep them in a shed during the day.

As above probably frustrated and bored. I have a Husky and a German Shepperd. GS hardly ever howls only when major annoyed, just does the usually barking at strangers etc.

My Husky howls in the mornings when he wakes up for a few minutes and then only when he is agitated or annoyed at something...or strangly when theres a full moon out?? But definatly not all the time..

    It's warm and dogs overheat
Let them out and give them a drink!

Id say they are bored being locked up in a shed.
If someone locked you away in a dark smelly shed it wouldn't take too long to go demented.

Because sound is a physical force that is not affected (accept perhaps some reverberation) by the presence or lack of presence of an observer.

    Or, God told me.

You would if you could float faster than 71 km/s/Mpc. Leaving approx 5% margin of error.
