Where does Traktor store beatgridding info?

Just wondering, and being a bit lazy by asking here instead of the NI forum, how or where Traktor Pro stores track gridding info. I'm working my way through my collection in blocks, making sure the grids are properly set up, starting with the tracks saved on the laptop itself. Next up will be two 16gb pen drives and an 80gb external hard drive and I'd like to know that my grids will be safe regardless of where the tracks are stored 'cos I tend to move them around a bit. (must get into the habit of using Traktor's crates!)

I asked that question on the traktor forums but I don't think I got the rigth answer. I was told it is stored in the mp3 file itself but i don't think that's true. Reason being is that day to say when I'm mixing at home, I have traktor running on my desktop pc. If I have a gig I'd like to be able to move a set directory(s) of files and playlists etc over to my laptop for a gig, but I have not found out how to do that yet, I usually just quickly do it again on the laptop before the gig. Kinda annoying setting all the cue points and grids again. If anyone knows how to do this properly let us know!

It's a file in your Traktor root directory (probably in a Native Instruments folder) called Collection.nml. I had a disaster where I deleted that file because I thought it was from an old Traktor demo I had, but it wasn't. That's the file with all the BPMs and cue points, so don't delete it. You can move it around I think, and you just have to tell Traktor where you moved it to.

Playlists are different though I think, pretty sure they're not in collection. I couldn't get them back when I wiped Traktor, but once I restored the collection from the trash I got everything else back.

You can store the beatgridding info to the id3 tag of the mp3 by pressing the lock key in the grid panel.

Traktor also stores the info in the Stripes folder in My Documents.

Stripes, that's the one I was forgetting. Yeah it stores stuff there too.

Lads I need to reinstall windows on my XP pc. How do I go about backing up all my Traktor settings, paylists & grid info etc?

I have my hard drive partitioned in two dives, C & D. D holds all my My Documents and files etc, only programs etc sit on C. Can I move any Traktor folders to D so I can just reinstall on C and then point to the D directory? What os the best way?

As far as I can tell, if you copy your Traktor folder from My Documents > My Music it should contain all the info you need.

Double check on the NI forum just in case though!
