The 34-year-old, nicknamed 'Choc', said on Twitter: "Few tests yesterday, not great news looks like I'll be missing the rest of the season."
Thornton suffered a fall when riding Our Phylli Vera for his boss, trainer Alan King, at Southwell on Monday.

Bad news for Choc but great news for Steve Drowne as he rides to day following a year out due to black outs.

Choc is not the jock he was around 3-4 years ago! I think it's nice to see Wayne Hutchison get his chance now!

Good to have Steve Drowne back too tho I doubt he'll be getting his job back with Roger Charlton.
