The British National Marathon Championships will be held on the
RiverDee in Chester this year, over the weekend of July 31st-August
1st.This is a fantastic course and is only 1 hour drive from Holyhead
port. The Irish Marathon Committee are hoping that a large Irish
contingent will travel to this event and have ear-marked funding for
developmental paddlers and clubs. Anyone who is planning on travelling
to this event please send an e-mail to "thomastownpaddlers@gmail.com",
with details of paddlers travelling, so as the committee can allocate
funding as it deems appropriate. Happy paddling!!"

Thanks to all for the assistance with this fun race .

The race went ahead with 12 boats, and 13 paddlers. Strictly a fun
event and feedback indicated, everyone enjoyed themselves. There was
enough prizes / awards to give all 13 paddlers an award so the classes
were divided up accordingly.

Carrick Results http://www.irishmarathoncanoeing.com/results/index
A small crowd made the trip to Carrick-on-Shannon recently for the
annual marathon! Here are the results!

Stolen k1 (Found)
Elio Dolphin K1 was stolen (21/6/10) in Enniscorthy around 2230. Its
colors were a green deck and a yellow hull. It was taken off my car.
The straps were also taken which suggests that someone put it on a
roof rack. It is seventeen foot long and could only be transported on
a roof rack. Obviously, it is quite tippy. Whoever nicked it is
probably never going to be able to paddle it, so its either going to
end up abandoned or sold on………..
K1 was found in a nearby back garden. I had put flyers through the
letterboxes in the area it was stolen. ( I had even put a flyer
through the thief's letterbox!) Somebody who had seen the flyer
spotted it. It had been opportunistically taken with the intention of
selling it on. Putting the flyers around meant that thief couldn't
easily move it without it being seen. Thus it remained local and
waiting to be seen by someone. Thanks for the support. regards Tadhg
