That's about the standard price in most stores and cheaper than Asda & sansburys in NI? - How is it a rip off? - Because coke isn't on their special offer list this week? - That would be utterly boring if every supermarket had identical offers every week!

The poster was pointing out that a twinpack was 23c more expensive than 2 separate bottles - a dirty business practice to fool consumers into thinking they're getting a bargain, which seems to be becoming ever more popular.

    It is what it's.

I look at it as a way of stupid customers subsidising those that can do simple maths in their head. :D

Tesco yesterday had 2 X 2L of Coke Zero for €2.50 or 2 in a multipack for more (might have been €2.99).

Its not a dirty business practice, it more to do with economies of scale than anything else.

The number of single 2l cokes made is in the millions.
The number of twin packs I'd guess is about 5% of this.

Therefore economies of scale allow for the single bottle to be produced cheaper than a twin pack - this is then passed on to the consumer.

Its the same with many multi packs and products with larger & smaller sizes and the consumer simply needs to be aware of it.

When i was in this morning, they didn't even have a price on them. They had a big palette in the middle of the floor as you walk in, with big sign saying todays special, yet no pricing. In the normal spot where they are, still had the €1.89 price or whatever it is

There was no 2L bottles of Regular Coca Cola left in either of the Lidl stores in Dundalk, at around 7.00 last night. There was diet, but no regular. I contented myself with 2L Pepsi for €1.00!

I got 30 bottles in lidi mullingar at 16:30 yesterday:D. 14 were Regular Coca Cola.
16 were diet coca cola. At the same time i seen 2 lads go off with 40 bottles of Regular Coca Cola each:eek:. when i left there was about 10 bottles of Regular Coca Cola left on the pallet.

The lad who served me at the checkout thought that only the diet was on offer, so he asked the other checkout op and he was told it was both plus he was told whet code to put in for the offer.
